The Wild Sunshine Trail

What is the Wild Sunshine Trail? We wanted to put together this trail for the community to venture out into the wild of Florida and experience the variable landscape. After spending most of our wheeling and off-road hours in the Sunshine State, we decided what better than to share our experiences by putting together a route dedicated to showcasing the wild terrains of our home for all to enjoy and attempt to conquer.

This route will come out in sections after a final proofing day of the tracking is done in each section of the trail. Currently, the plan is for this to become a two to three day overlanding adventure experiencing these gems of Central Florida. It will take you through several tracts of the Withlacoochee State Forest and the Ocala National Forest. The Withlacoochee State Forest tracts include Richloam Wildlife Management Area, Croom Wildlife Management Area, and Citrus Wildlife Management Area. Each of these different areas of the state forest has an extensive range of landscapes and features, making them unique. When you arrive in the Ocala National Forest, you could spend several days exploring everything there is to see. The Ocala National Forest is one of Floridas largest forests and has a multitude of terrains within it to enjoy.

The Wild Sunshine Trail starts in Richloam Wildlife Management Area. Richloam is a complicated beast, if you follow along with the process of tracking this route on our YouTube Channel you’ll see It was a challenge to find a path for most off-road capable vehicles to see the beauty of this Florida Swamp. Even on our proofing day, so much had changed just due to the rainy season. For the full Richloam track download, scroll down below.

The next portion of the Wild Sunshine Trail will take you through Croom Wildlife Management Area. This portion of the trail is fairly simple compared to Richloam, but has some unique sights to see such as a seed farm that you will drive alongside, a dedicated dirt bike and ATV area, and the paved Withlacoochee State Trail.

Next up, Citrus Wildlife Management Area. Stay Tuned!

Remember, your safety and the safety of your vehicle are your responsibility. This trail is only meant to showcase the landscape of Florida in a route taking you through various forests, and does not guarantee safe passage.
